27th Sunday of Ordinary Time Homily

The saints tell us that it is a blessing to be overlooked and unappreciated. It is a blessing to have our motives questioned and our good works criticized. When we give without counting the cost and without expecting anything in return, then our love is purified. We become more like our Heavenly Father who showers blessings on the just and the unjust alike. Also, we realize that the little we give is nothing compared to all that we have received. And we rejoice in knowing that what our hearts most desire – intimacy with God – awaits us in Heaven.

The actual length of this homily is 947 Words. Use it as a complete, compelling reflection of the gospel or as a unique starting point in crafting your personal message.

It is our prayer that these sermons may assist you in touching more of your congregation as you proclaim the Word of God. Our homilies come in Microsoft Word format so that you can easily edit and personalize the sermon according to your preferences and preaching style.
