Palm Sunday Homily
Rather than cling to all His privileges as the Son of God, He took on our human nature, embraced poverty and willingly endured death. If we are to follow in His footsteps, we must be willing to empty ourselves of all the trappings of earthly power and pride to serve the poorest and most vulnerable of our brothers and sisters.
Jesus has entered the holy city to conquer sin and death. We who follow Him two thousand years later embrace the way of life He taught us. We conquer hate through love, we face persecution with perseverance and we give blessings in exchange for curses. Because He embraced suffering for our sake, we see His face in all those who suffer.
