It is also a way for us to unite ourselves to Jesus who suffered on the cross for us and offer it up for the conversion of sinners. As Saint Paul tells us in today’s second reading, “…in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ on behalf of His body which is the Church.”
